It’s not every day you welcome a Member of Parliament into your workplace, but last week, we had the privilege of doing just that.
On Wednesday 18th September, we opened our doors to Katie White OBE, MP for Leeds North West, for an afternoon of conversations, introductions and shared ideas. The aim was to shine a light on the realities and responsibilities of being an SME in 2025 and to talk openly about the future of sustainability in packaging.
Katie met with team members from across Hazel 4D, toured our Horsforth head office and operations at Mill House, and heard first-hand about the work we’re doing to help customers reduce waste, improve load stability and prepare for evolving regulations like Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
We discussed the nuances of packaging compliance and material innovation, and Katie was engaged, curious, and genuinely invested in the SME perspective.
There was also an open discussion about the Employment Rights Bill, and how businesses like ours are working to balance regulatory shifts with internal growth and team wellbeing. For us, these aren’t just political talking points, they’re day-to-day realities that shape how we operate, plan, and support our clients.
“It was a real pleasure to meet Katie and share some of the behind-the-scenes work that makes Hazel 4D what it is,” said Katie Graham, our Sustainability Lead. “We’re not just selling packaging, we’re helping businesses rethink how they use it, how it performs and how it impacts the planet.”
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made – from achieving EcoVadis Platinum status to supporting some of the UK’s biggest brands with strategic packaging consultancy. We know there’s always more to do and that’s why we welcome these conversations, and why Katie’s visit meant so much to the team.
Hazel 4D remains committed to doing packaging differently and we’re always open to talking about it.
