Charity fundraising & volunteering

Hazel 4D donates to many local, national and global charities every year and we frequently take part in fundraising activities. Charity is at the core of what we do.

Here are some of the charities we’ve supported recently:

Hazel 4D's walk all over cancer challenge

In March 2022, many members of the Hazel 4D team took part in Cancer Research UK’s Walk All Over Cancer challenge, where they aimed to walk minimum 10,000 steps per day.

Across the month the team managed to walk 6,771,857 steps and raised a fantastic £2,040 to help fund the fight against cancer!

Sustainable packaging

We’re committed to reducing our impact on the environment by actively providing packaging solutions that put a lower ecological burden on the planet. We invest in the latest innovations in the packaging industry, including eco friendly products which are made from recycled content, recyclable or paper-based, and as such, we are industry leaders in sustainable products.

Not only do we offer some great products, like the Surf all-paper mailing envelopes and eco-friendly void-fill systems, but we’ll always be inventive and smart about finding ways of working that minimise waste, cost and harm, too. Our Intelligent Load Stability system and our packaging consultations are designed to balance performance with reduced packaging and waste.

Office

Our Offices

The Hazel 4D head office features super-efficient LED lighting and a heat pump exchange unit to minimise energy usage.

Our processes are paperless.

We have ‘dry mixed recycling’ bins on each floor to recycle our paper, cardboard, plastic, cans and clean empty food containers.

Waste Management

100% of the waste produced at our head office and distribution centre is diverted away from landfill.

We also help our customers improve their waste management processes.

We recently helped a large telecoms manufacturer improve their inefficient and costly waste management system by installing balers so they could bale their own waste. Their baled waste is recycled by Recycling Lives, a waste management company that employs ex-offenders and helps homeless people find work.

Hazel 4D reports monthly on the amount of waste recycled and gives them a rebate for the amount their waste is worth. Our customer now recycles around 50 tonnes of plastic and cardboard per month, has an additional revenue stream from recycling and their new waste management system is 89% cheaper than previous system.

Transport

We encourage staff to car share where possible and travel together on business trips.

In 2021, we updated our policy meaning that all new company vehicles must be plugin hybrid or fully electric.

Quality

Customer satisfaction forms a huge part of our quality management system at Hazel 4D.

We’ve worked with TXM consultancy to drive continuous improvement in our operations, and our in-house 4DIS system focuses on streamlining our transactional processes.

As well as focusing on our own improvement, we also work with our customers to drive continuous improvements to their packaging and business processes.

We’re ISO 9001:2015 certified and comply with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

We update our health and safety policy annually and share it within the business. We regularly provide full team training on health and safety and emergency procedures.
